Even more prayers needed!

Today was extremely stressful the whole day was spent getting ready to transport molly downstairs to and from her MRI. To get her there required a lot of preparation (& an army of nurses) and because she could not travel with the ventilator she had to be manually bagged until the MRI team could hook her up to their machine. Today they started to ween some of Molly’s seizure medications. She is currently on 4 and needs to be weened down to just two. By this afternoon she had successfully weened off of one and they began to ween the second. It is a slow process and very much a balancing act as these same drugs are helping to hold her in the medically induced coma. As the drugs are removed Molly becomes a little more awake, tries to breath against the machine and at times throws her arms and legs around. It is really important that she remains comfortably asleep so that the Nuro doctor can get an accurate read on the EEG machine. Molly will be on the EEG until at least Wednesday. As these drugs are removed, the next 48 hours will be absolutely critical. She will be at risk for slipping back into a seizure at any time. Even the Nuro doctor assured us that we better pray, as it is because of prayer she has come this far. Although the MRI showed that the seizure has done damage to the right side of her brain, we feel it is nothing that can’t be overcome and the most important thing is that molly remain seizure and disease free so that in a few days she can wake up and we can hold her in our arms again. We are so thankful for the support and prayers for our little miracle girl.
