Well the weekend was calm and mostly uneventful, Molly continued to feel great with lots of time spent running the halls, and in the playroom. Sunday did bring some storms outside, heavy rain, thunder and lightning, a perfect day to be inside, the other girls spent some time curled up watching movies. Monday was more exciting Molly’s counts finally bottomed out and she got to meet the lovely and talented Vanna White. They had a brief but fun little play in Molly’s playroom and it was nice to have new friendly faces around. (we also forgot to take any pictures but hope to have some from St. Jude’s in about 3 weeks) Although Molly’s counts have bottomed out and she is getting the occasional fever, she does not slow down, she has displayed amazing energy and stamina. She has taken to giving the nurses tours of the ward. “Tour?” she says and “this is a wall, this is a door, and another door, this is a red room…” So cute and so nice that all the nurses and murses play along. Though she charges nothing, all her costumers would agree the Molly Tour experience is priceless. Today was Fat Tuesday here and so Molly started her day making masks and Mardi Gras decorations for a traditional mini Mardi Gras parade (consisting of just Molly, Bek, child life lady & me) which the nurses and murses seemed to enjoy. Molly really enjoyed throwing all the beads at everyone! Sadly most all the other kids on the ward are in isolation right now. We are looking forward to Molly’s counts coming back up which will be a sign of her engrafting. And we are so very happy to report that Owen and Emma arrived in Memphis tonight. It was a surprise for Sara and Kate as they had no idea until they saw them at the airport. The kids are thrilled to be back together and the car ride home was filled with very loud and very happy chatter. We will keep Sara and Kate out of school for the rest of the week so we can show them around town. They are excited to come see Molly and the new hospital tomorrow. Although it is after midnight here Molly is still up partying Mardi Gras style I guess, everyday Molly is laughing, and smiling is a miracle we are so grateful for everyday.

So glad the big kids are down there with you. It’s not truly Mardi Gras unless you let things get a little wild. Enjoy the fun with all of you together! And Vanna White? Well? Was she wearing a shiny dress? Did she walk in to the room waving and smiling? Keep up that energy Molly – you’re an amazing little girl!
